
Don Sandusky
Don Sandusky, Ph.D. is an engineer, materials scientist, inventor and entrepreneur with over three decades of experience across aerospace, fibers, apparel, medical devices, and sporting goods. Following his NASA Graduate Research Fellowship in carbon fiber composites and decade of work at DuPont, he transitioned to entrepreneurship, developing the breakthrough technology behind Spalding's Neverflat® basketball. Subsequent soccer gear innovations led to a successful acquisition by New Balance and a leadership role at Warrior Sports. He later transformed a local Huntington Beach, California garage hobby into a small business, Hamboards®, gaining worldwide recognition through ABC's Shark Tank. With a dozen awarded patents, journal publications, interviews and blogs, he has shared knowledge. His designs have been featured in Popular Science, credited in Harper's Bazaar, Hollywood productions, and used by professional athletes. For the past decade, he has owned and operated a small sports equipment manufacturing company, continuously innovating while navigating all aspects of international business operations, marketing and sales. His current project, SUPSkate®, provides performance gear, for athletes, in the emerging skate poling sport, where he focuses on equipment development and community building.
