Venkat Aitharaju

Dr. Venkat Aitharaju is a Technical Fellow in the Materials & Manufacturing Systems Research Lab at General Motors Global Research and Development. He is responsible for the development of advanced mathematical modeling tools, including AI/ML-based solutions, for the design and simulation of composite materials, with an emphasis on manufacturing processes and structural performance prediction. With over 27 years of experience at General Motors, Dr. Aitharaju has played a key role in the design, manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering (CAE) of both metals and composites. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator for a multi-year project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, focused on developing multifunctional composites and associated computational simulation and AI/ML tools to accelerate the cost-effective adoption of composites for next-generation automotive lightweighting.
